This policy explains what information Marcy Vanity collects when you visit marcyvanity.com, why it is collected, and what choices you have. Last updated September 23, 2026.
Who runs this site
Marcy Vanity is an independent beauty blog published in the United States. You can reach me through the contact page.
Information you give me
- Contact form. If you send a message, the form collects your name, email address and the content of your message so I can reply.
- Newsletter. If you subscribe, your email address is stored so I can send the newsletter. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- Comments. If you leave a comment, WordPress stores the comment, your name, email address, website if you give one, and your IP address, to help with spam filtering.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, this one and the services it uses collect some technical information automatically, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you visit, and the site you arrived from.
- Google Analytics — aggregate traffic statistics: which pages are read, for how long, and roughly where visitors are located.
- Microsoft Clarity — anonymized recordings of page interactions such as scrolling and clicking, used to see which parts of a page people actually use. Clarity masks text input by default.
- Meta Pixel — measures whether visits came from Facebook or Instagram.
- Web host and security logs — standard server logs kept by the hosting provider.
Cookies and your choices
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site uses them for basic functionality, for the analytics named above, and for affiliate tracking. When you first arrive you are shown a consent banner where you can accept all cookies, keep only the essential ones, or set your preferences, and you can change that choice at any time from the same banner.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Essential cookies are needed for the site to work; blocking the others will not stop you reading anything here.
Affiliate links
This site contains affiliate links, as described on the affiliate disclosure page. When you click one, the retailer may place a cookie that tells them the visit came from this site so a commission can be credited. That cookie is set and read by the retailer, not by me. I never see your payment details or what you ultimately buy, only anonymous totals in the affiliate dashboard.
What is never done with your information
- Your email address is never sold, rented or traded.
- Your information is not shared with advertisers or data brokers.
- No payment information is collected on this site at all.
How long information is kept
Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so follow-up replies stay readable. Contact form messages are kept while the conversation is useful and then deleted. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data follows each provider standard retention period.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask me to show you the personal information held about you, correct it, or delete it. Under the GDPR in the European Economic Area and the UK, and under the CCPA and similar laws in California and other US states, you also have the right to object to processing, to request a copy of your data, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. To make a request, use the contact page. There is no charge, and I will respond within the time the applicable law allows.
Children
This site is meant for adults and is not directed at children under 13. No information is knowingly collected from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent information through this site, contact me and it will be deleted.
Third-party sites
Posts link to retailers and other websites. Once you follow a link, you are on that company site and their privacy policy applies, not this one.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
